THE THEN OLD STRUGGLE-THE NICKNAME DAN BOSHO
Student of dawakin kudu S.S.S. class strived hard to pass S.S.C.E. examination and become ambassadors of education and progress in their communities. The struggles then has to pass the examination that may quality one to gain entry in to any of the Nigerian university and polytechnic or any higher instruction of choice.But must student struggle and read hard to become doctors scientist or engineers. This is because the school is SSS and the subject taught are science related subject and qualify one to become a professional in the relevant field only. Student who read at night are nicknamed (danbosho) and stay in class from dusk to down read sleeplessly to see that he passed to his taste. Most of those who sought to socialize in anything contrary to reading or learning will not have an enabling environment. Social activities are initially organised to students on Saturdays night-a kind of musical jamboree and dancing, but was later descouraged by some clerics and religious students who preached against it. Student sleep in the after noon after period from 2-4: pm and learn from preps from 4-6: pm and go to after noon prep to read what was taught in the morning. Night preps are also attended from 7-10 pm by compulsory to student in order to keep them vigilant.
